While we shared the exciting news of our acquisition by RenPSG last week, our work to democratize giving and bring more transparency to the space continues with our February 2020 State of Giving Report.
What a difference a few years make. Less than 4 years ago, in my inaugural blog post for Pinkaloo, we were newcomers with a vision and commitment to learn, grow and help do our part to make giving easier and more personal. Our raison d’etre was based on “a fervent belief that with better software tools, donors and charities can drive more change and greater good more quickly.”
Pinkaloo continues to see tremendous support for Food Shelters and other organizations focused on addressing the hunger in our communities. Similarly, Housing & Shelter continue to receive many donations, too.

In December 2020, Pinkaloo users largely supported food banks and pantries and wildlife preservation. The largest donation recipient was Asian Elephant Support. Check out our latest State of Giving Report for current giving trends.
WOW. It doesn’t need to be said again what a crazy year 2020. Fortunately, people felt deep in the souls that their communities were hurting. And they were moved to give. People want to give locally, people want to be a part of something bigger, and people want to know their money is directly supporting people in need.
However, if giving back is a part of your resolution or plans for 2021, now is a great time to start budgeting for that giving. Many of our users set up a recurring contribution to their account in January. Each month, or each payroll, their selected amount is deposited into their giving account.
Pinkaloo is here to simplify your year end, at least as it relates to your philanthropy and charitable giving. There are two opportunities to help that can may want to consider acting on before the end of the year.
In November 2020, Pinkaloo’s users donated to charities nationwide supporting homeless shelters, food banks and pantries, and Judaism among many other causes.
We didn’t know what to expect after people had been so generous earlier in the year supporting COVID-related funds and then social justice funds.
But clearly, people can feel that their communities and their neighbors are hurting and in need of help.
Bromelkamp, the company behind akoyaGO, recently announced their partnership with us to expand their product offering to their Foundation clients. This is a tremendous opportunity for Pinkaloo and we wanted to take a moment to share why we’re so excited and how this will propel the Community Foundation space forward.
